¡Estamos aqui!

Hola from Costa Rica - even we can´t believe we made it in one piece. We arrived late Tuesday night, cleared customs and found our bags without any problems. Then through the chaos of finding a taxi, we made it to Hotel Pacande (Brian swears this is the old Islands B&B). The room was small, but seemed ok until the first fan broke. After the second fan broke we gave up and tried to get some remaining sleep before we headed back to the airport in just a few hours. So, groggy as we were, we boarded our Sansa Air flight with 7 other people to Puerto Jimenez. We sat right behind the cockpit and had a great view. The plane was a single prop and went up to 9500 ft. We stopped over in Drake Bay, which has a runway that I would be afraid to drive my car on...and heads right to the ocean. Our pilot did great and we were soon in Puerto Jimenez. It was 7:15am and nothing was open yet, we were hungry and hot already. With our packs loaded on our backs, we walked through the town and, a few steps short of deciding to leave town, we found a good breakfast spot. So we got out our trusted Lonely Planet and started to look for a hotel for the night. Again, a few steps shy of concluding that we were in over our heads, we stumbled upon a newly renovated place run by a sweet woman. Our room has AC!! We took a nap and met with our tourguide for kayaking later today. So far so good, lots of adventure to come. We will kayak the mangroves this afternoon and head to Corcovado tomorrow. We will post pictures and survival stories on Saturday when we return. Miss you all, and the niceties of the US.
